Microsoft Teams to add speed dial function

Microsoft Teams is going back to the future with its latest update.

Teams has proved hugely popular as a meetings tool during the Covid-19 pandemic, with many people relying on online meetings.

Now Microsoft is looking to add a speed dial function for mobile devices, first popularised on phones in the 1980s.

“This feature makes your most used calling contacts easy to access with one tap dialling,” says Microsoft.

The speed dial feature looks to be coming to all mobile clients, but likely to iOS first. The update is still under development, but should begin to roll out very soon.

Details are currently scarce and it is not clear how the speed dial feature will differ from a normal contacts page, Microsoft has suggested users will benefit from some sort of efficiency gain.

Here at UK Business IT, we see Teams as a tool that’s had many benefits during the pandemic and one which will continue to be part of the business picture in the forseeable future.
